Neys (Egypt) -- These end-blown flutes are found in various African countries, such as Egypt and Kenya, as well as throughout the middle East (with differing names for each region). The ney dates back as far as ancient Egypt and is depicted on several ancient Egyptian illustrations.

Tablas (Egypt) -- These drums are also frequently called doumbek or darbuka, but are referred to as tablas in Egypt (not to be confused with Indian tablas)
